No rust belt, America had a prosperous, thriving middle-class.
Our infrastructure, the bridges, dams, highways, airports, ports railroads, were all in excellent condition.
American kids were far better educated, particularly in math and science. And, parents were in charge.
During the Cuban missile crisis, JFK threatened a strong military response. The Russians backed down.
JFK inspired and galvanized Americans to beat the Russians to the moon. And, we did.
